VIADUCT Public Debates

VIADUCT organises four Public Debates, targeting students, practitioners, the wider public and the media. They shall each be related to one of the cross-sectorial issues ‘Power’, ‘People’, ‘Resources’ and ‘the EU’s Future’.

Interactive formats, such as Town Hall Meetings or fishbowl discussions enhance the exchange of views and research findings on EU-Turkey relations and the future of the EU.

VIADUCT public debates are scheduled as follows:

  • 20 March 2018: Security and Politics (‘Power’), organised in Helsinki, in light of the first anniversary of the constitutional referendum in Turkey.
  • 14 November 2018: Migration and Identity (‘People’), organised in Athens by November 2018 reflecting on the three years after the joint declaration on migration.
  • 11 November 2020: Energy and Economics (‘Resources’), organised online in 2020, reflecting on Turkey’s potential of an Energy Hub and/or assessing the state of play in economic policies both in Turkey and in the EU.
  • 20 November 2020: EU-Turkey Relations ('The EU's Future'), organised online in 2020, reflection on the EU-Relations, five years after the EU-Turkey Statement on Migration.
